At Wiggle Worms, we believe children learn best when they are known personally, challenged thoughtfully, encouraged faithfully, and inspired to become confident readers, writers, thinkers, and leaders.
Every child has a story waiting to be written, and at Wiggle Worms Learning Center, that story begins with wonder, discovery, and joyful learning. It starts in our VPK program, where children build confidence, develop strong early literacy and math skills, and discover the excitement of learning.
As they grow, they continue their journey into our Bookworms private elementary program, allowing them to build on the same strong foundation in a familiar, Christ-centered environment through third grade.
Because our teachers know each child personally, they are able to build on each year’s successes rather than starting over. Through small class sizes, collaborative multi-age learning, personalized instruction, and a strong emphasis on reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking, students develop the confidence, character, and love of learning that prepares them not only for the next grade, but for the years beyond.

How do I enroll my child?
Send us an email letting us know you are interested. Next, we will set up a tour for you and your child. At that time, we will provide you with enrollment forms and a parent handbook. The handbook includes our calendar of events for that year.
What documents do I need to bring for enrollment?
Before or on the first day, you will need to provide us with:
1. Current immunization forms
2. Current physical documentation
3. Completed food program and enrollment forms
4. Download and create an account on the ProCare App
Do I need to provide a birth certificate?
VPK does not require a birth certificate. However, if you receive funding from ELC, you may need one for their organization.
Students that participate in Bookworms Academy (BWCA) in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are required to provide a birth certificate, according to FL State Law.
Do you provide before and after care?
Yes. Before care begins at 6:30am and we provide breakfast. After care starts at 3:30 and ends 6:00pm and we provide an afternoon snack. Both before and after care are offered at a combined affordable, additional cost.
What are the VPK hours?
VPK class is from 8:30 to 11:30 during the school year.
What are school hours for Kindergarten – 3rd grades?
School hours begin at 8:30am and class ends at 3:30pm.
What curriculum do you use for Kindergarten – 3rd grades?
We primarily use the Abeka curriculum, while customizing lessons to your individual child’s learning needs.
Do you provide lunch?
No, children and students are to bring their own lunches.
Do you serve snacks?
We serve breakfast, and an afternoon snack. During the school year, all kids that stay all day will bring their own lunch.
Are uniforms required?
For VPK, uniforms are not required.
For Bookworm Academy students, five uniformed shirts are provided at the beginning of the year. Families are to provide their own pants/skirts/shorts that meet uniform requirements.
Additional uniform shirts can be purchased for an additional cost.
Does Wiggle Worms or Bookworms follow the public school calendar?
We have a very similar calendar but does not always match exactly. We do make sure to align our spring break with public schools in Hernando County. School calendars are provided with every enrollment packet.
How do I transition my child from VPK into Bookworms Academy?
VPK students receive priority admission before students transferring from outside our school. Families need to alert the school in April that they are interested in continuing on into Bookworms Academy. We will then help families navigate the Step Up scholarship for their students.
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important investments your family will make. Through Florida scholarship programs and childcare assistance, many families receive financial support that makes a Wiggle Worms or Bookworms education possible.
Step Up For Students Scholarship
Students enrolled in our Bookworms private elementary program may qualify for the Step Up For Students Scholarship, a Florida scholarship program that helps families afford private education. Many of our families receive scholarships that cover the full cost of tuition. Because application windows and eligibility requirements can change, we encourage families to apply early each year. We are happy to answer questions and guide you through the process.
Free Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)
Wiggle Worms proudly participates in Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program. Eligible four-year-olds receive a state-funded VPK certificate that covers the cost of the VPK instructional program, giving children an excellent academic foundation before kindergarten.
Early Learning Coalition (ELC) Childcare Assistance
For families who qualify, the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) may provide financial assistance for childcare services, including before and after school care for both VPK and Bookworms students. If you think you may qualify, we encourage you to contact your local Early Learning Coalition to begin the application process.
Before & After School Care and Summer Camp
To support working families, Wiggle Worms also offers before and after school care as well as a fun, engaging summer camp program. These services are available to enrolled students, and ELC assistance may be available for qualifying families.
